2011 BMW K1300R
This is definitely the hottest naked bike generation since the 2011 BMW K1300R. After all, a refined 2-cylinder bike like this state-of-the-art roadster is simply sexy: light, stylish, fit. A state-of-the-art product with a totally cool design, the perfect combination of pure riding pleasure with a high degree of suitability for everyday use. A 798 cc 2-cylinder entirely wrapped in black: it doesn’t just look cool, it sounds cool too. And it has pulling power.

The well-known and highly economical parallel twin provides real enjoyment. 86 Nm of torque is outstanding in this category – as is 87 bhp. Especially since it is available within a very practical engine speed range. In other words, this bike offers excellent ridability; and the 2011 BMW K1300R offers a range which will please old hands and newcomers alike. Ergonomics which suit everyone, a firm, stable chassis and a perfectly balanced geometry round off this cool package: great handling for the city and ultra-stable for travelling at higher speeds on country roads.

With this much fun, the optional ABS is a welcome extra too, as are other features such as LED technology, styling parts, various intelligent luggage solutions – and of course the test ride. And don’t forget: the bike is also available with 34 bhp!
And finally: it’s a BMW – and a pretty cool one, too.

2011 BMW R 1200 R Specs News and Review

If youre looking for a bike with zero pretensions thats all attitude, the R 1200 R is your ride. From blazing performance in the twisties to long distance touring to blasts around the city this is a supremely capable motorcycle that offers exhilarating performance. Featuring a generous 109hp, the new R 1200 R has the horsepower torque and acceleration to create thrills with every mile. Add the latest version of BMW Integral ABS and Automatic Stability Control, and the R 1200 R is as sure-footed as it is exciting.
Handling is remarkably precise thanks to the Telelever front suspension and the motorcycles low center of gravity. Now every turn becomes a pulse-quickening experience no matter where the pavement takes you.
BMW, whether one’s musing about bikes or cars, has always had a reputation for quality. An example is BMW’s R1200R, “a “naked” (meaning without bodywork) cruiser with flair. It’s both quick and economical, surprising traits in a market segment known for flash, not dash. A week-long road test showed this $12,795 bike may be a partial answer to $4 per gallon gas.

The second model to be displayed by BMW Motorrad at EICMA Show is R1200 R, in both standard and Classic versions. Both combine a modern sporty and accentuated classical motorcycle design, once again with considerably greater quality and driving dynamics for even more riding fun.

The new R 1200 R is powered by a 1170 cc engine that delivers 110 HP at 7750 rpm and a peak torque of 119 NM at 6000 rpm. The new bike will be offered in three exterior colors: mat metallic smoky gray, metallic light gray, or metallic red apple.

2010 BMW 5 Series

The sixth generation of the 5-Series (BMW F10) made its debut on 23 November 2009 as a 2010 model.

Improvements include a front dual ball joint short-long arm suspension, and rear multilink suspension. For the powertrain, there will be a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission, the single turbo inline-6 N55, and the twin-turbo V8 N63.

It is designed by Adrian van Hooydonk, with a more prominent upright split kidney grille and the absence of the "Bangle butt" rear-end styling of its E60 predecessor. Externally, the car is a more traditional BMWesque design; a far more sober effort after the highly controversial E60.

Although it bears some resemblance to the E60 with the wide kidney grilles and a very pronounced Hofmeister kink, the creases in the bonnet and just underneath the door are clearly related to the E39 and other earlier 5 series models. Inside marks the return of the centre console being clearly angled towards the driver, another marked change from its immediate predecessor which was noted for its non traditional BMW design.

However, opinion is divided, as a reviewer described the F10 as too bland and conservative, compared to the E60 predecessor, as well as having too much of a resemblance to the E90 3-Series.

The new C 600 Sport is perfect for anyone who is looking for an intelligent mobility solution - and wants to get a feel for the BMW Motorrad experience. The 2012 BMW C600 Sport offers excellent handling and a supreme drive system. The striking design in characteristic BMW style will be sure to attract attention in the city. This is the way to handle urban mobility. A world full of possibilities, adventure and challenges.

2012 BMW C600 Sport is fitted with the 647cc parallel-twin that produces 60 horsepower at 7500rpm and 66Nm of torque at 6000 revs. 2012 BMW C600 Sport also get continuously variable transmission (CVT) as is the norm with almost all scooters these days. BMW says its new engine is the most powerful and efficient engine in its class, and it claims a top speed of a lofty 109 mph. The Sport can sprint to 62.5 mph in a fairly brisk 7.1 seconds, while the 26-pound heavier GT takes 7.5 secs.
The design of the 2012 BMW C600 Sport suspension features a torsionally rigid hybrid interconnection of a tubular steel bridge frame and a diecast aluminium unit at the swingarm bearing. In addition, the 2-cylinder inline engine functions as a stressed element, presenting a particularly rigid construction for stable and high precision response.
A large-digit analog speedometer is complemented by an outsized LCD info panel that includes a fuel gauge (for its 16-liter tank), rate of fuel consumption, oil-level readout, ambient temperature and tachometer. A power socket is standard equipment, and a powerful 588-watt alternator provides plenty of juice to energize optional headed grips and seats. In addition to two preset (high/low) settings, the seat/grip warmers have a new Auto level that delivers heat based off outside temperature and vehicle speed.

Quick History of BMW in America

BMW, or Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, is an example of the oldest carmaker in Europe. BMW has its main headquarters in Germany and it is best know for its high performance autos and motorcycles.

BMW Group includes other brands, such as Mini and the magnificent Rolls-Royce. Before the First World War the BMW factories were producing bicycles and planes (in reality, the BMW trademark is a stylized airplane propeller).

Throughout its history, BMW faced several crisis, among that the First World War, the second World War and a takeover endeavour by Daimler Benz, but it managed to evolve into one of the most renowned and famous carmakers in the world today.

BMW started its automobile production before the WW I with the BMX Dixie. With many of the companys factories being bombed after the war, BMW started its automobile production once more and many people were of the 1960s and 1970s BMW continued to develop new, more technological advanced vehicles and it is built a name in motorsport with its special competition models.

In fact, due to their achievement in motorsport BMW managed to sell its "civilian" autos, deriving from the contest models. BMW has introduced several technological innovations in their autos, making them some of the most advanced in the planet at that time: the front disk brake, the four-wheel independent suspension.

The company has enlarged its automobile range and in 1972 the first 5 Series was launched, a model to make history for the company. Only two years on, in 1975, BMW launched its smaller model, the 3 Series, followed by the splendid seven Series in 1977. However, BMW failed to only wanted to build cars for the ECU market and wanted to expand its operations worldwide.

BMW entered the American market in the late 1960s with the BMW 2002 sports model. It was a new apparition on the US streets, as it was extremely flexible and it offered good fuel consumption. The BMW 2002 was among the 1st sports sedans on the American market. In the mid 1970s BMW introduced the 3 Series, only 2 months after it has first launched the model in Europe. The 3 Series was a big success in the US, as Yank managed to buy an affordable medium sized sports sedan, a car with a fantastic handling and stability at that point.

BMW continued to extend its auto range to be sold in America and these days all its brands are offered to Yank purchasers: BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce. But BMW did not only sell vehicles in the US, but opened several technology and production plants: theyve a design office in California, a technology bureau in Silicon Valley and many producing plants, eg, the one South Carolina that is the only plant to make the Z4 model and the American X5. There are around 500 official BMW dealers in the States today. BMW is currently looking to offer more powerful, luxurious automobiles that augment the latest technologies to supply the best gas consumption in their class.
